On the afternoon of August 4, the Beijing Youth Orchestra, which was invited to participate in the first "World Orchestra Week," took the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York. The performance started with a surprise as orchestra members entered the venue not from backstage, as is the usual practice, but from behind the auditorium of Carnegie Hall, wearing exquisite costumes. The audience welcomed them enthusiastically.
Under the baton of maestro Lyu Jia, the Beijing Youth Orchestra captivated the crowd. They shared the stage with the esteemed pipa maestro Wu Man, creating a mesmerizing fusion of Eastern and Western music. Their youthful energy and stellar performance won cheers and a standing ovation from the audience. Before the concert began, they engaged with fellow musicians from around the globe in the "Wish for Our World" initiative, where they expressed their heartfelt desires for a better world and their passion for music.
