China's Wu Peng earned the silver medal in men's sport climbing's speed event at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics on Thursday, clocking 4.77 seconds, just 0.02 seconds behind Veddriq Leonardo, who won Indonesia's first gold in Paris, with Sam Watson of the USA rounding out the podium.
Shortly after his competition, the 21-year-old Wu and Zhong Qixin, the head coach of China's speed climbing team, spoke to CGTN Sports Scene's Greg Laffradi about Wu's achievement, as well as the success of Deng Lijuan, who took silver in the women's event one day earlier.
