China returns to top of medal table on Day 15 at 2024 Paris Olympics

Chinese athletes won a total of six gold medals and one bronze on Saturday at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, moving their delegation back on top of the medal table with 39 golds overall.

Cao Yuan won the men's 10-meter platform diving final with 547.50 points, beating Rikuto Tamai of Japan (507.65) and Noah Williams of Great Britain (497.35). Cao defended the title he previously won at the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Games in 2021. His victory enabled China to sweep all eight golds in the sport in the French capital.

Sun Yingsha, Chen Meng and Wang Manyu gave China a perfect table tennis swan song after defeating Hina Hayata, Miwa Harimoto and Miu Hirano of Japan 3-0 in the women's team final. That triumph gave the Chinese paddlers a sweep of all five golds in the sport, as well as one silver.

Liu Huanhua of China edged Akbar Djuraev of Uzbekistan by two kilograms (406-404) in the men's 102-kilogram weightlifting final to win the inaugural title in the newly-introduced event. The bronze medal went to Individual Neutral Athlete Yauheni Tsikhantsou, who hoisted 402 kilograms in total.

The Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team claimed the country's first Olympic gold in the sport with 69.80 points, after outperforming Israel (68.85) and Italy (68.10) in the group all-around final at La Chapelle Arena.

Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi added another artistic swimming title for China with their work earning 566.4783 points in the duet free routine final. Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe of Great Britain took silver with 558.5367, while Bregje de Brouwer and Noortje de Brouwer of the Netherlands settled for bronze with 558.3963 points.

China's Li Qian secured her first Olympic title in her third trip to the Games after defeating Atheyna Bylon of Panama 4-1 in the women's 75-kilogram boxing final at Roland Garros Stadium.

Lin Xiyu added a bronze medal for China after finishing third in the women's golf final. Lydia Ko of New Zealand took home the gold, while the silver went to Esther Henseleit of Germany.
