Fujian cuisine is one of the eight culinary cultures in China. One important offshoot of Fujian cuisine is the Quanzhou cuisine, which features a mixed food culture. In 2021, China's southeast city of Quanzhou was selected as a UNESCO heritage site. The city now has a new target: bidding to figure in UNESCO's "City of Gastronomy" list.
