French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday extended warm congratulations to Chinese athletes for their outstanding achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games during an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG).

Macron sat down with CMG at the Elysee Palace, speaking of both Chinese and French athletes' achievements and sharing his views on the meaning of the Olympic Games.

Noting that China has invested a lot in sports over the years, Macron pointed out that China has become one of the top two sporting powers in the world.

China's achievements in a wide range of sports prove that it has the ability to produce great athletes and inspire people, he added.
