The pilot of a helicopter that crashed into the roof of a hotel in Australia's Far North Queensland on Monday morning was killed, local media reported, citing police.
The pilot was the only person in the helicopter and died at the scene, the Queensland Police said.
The helicopter crashed into the roof of the DoubleTree by Hilton on Cairns Esplanade at around 1:50 a.m., igniting a blaze atop the building and forcing mass evacuation.
Two hotel guests were taken to hospital in a stable condition.
