A stunning display of the aurora borealis accompanied by a meteor shower appeared in the skies above China's northernmost city of Mohe in Heilongjiang Province, astounding onlookers and stargazers the world over with their extreme beauty. The aurora first appeared on Sunday evening and continued to shine into the early hours of Monday morning, painting the sky with vibrant hues of pink, purple and green. On Monday night, the most impressive Perseid meteor shower of the year arrived just in time to add a dazzling highlight to the night sky. Stargazers and photographers have flocked to the city to capture this natural phenomenon.
