After retiring from a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine, 84-year-old Huang Wenzhong leased over 13 hectares of forestland in Yunnan to cultivate camellias. Over the past 27 years, he has introduced and propagated more than 200 domestic and international varieties of this flowering plant. Today, his garden is a key site for the collection and breeding of its germplasm.
