This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. The two countries established formal diplomatic relations on August 15, 1974. In 1993, China and Brazil built a strategic partnership, and the relationship was upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2012.
