Phayre's leaf monkeys are a first-class protected species in China. The population of this endangered species has seen a significant boost in the Gaoligong Mountains in southwest China's Yunnan Province. Their numbers have surged from 320 to more than 800 over the last decade. Thanks to the establishment of biological corridors, the quality of wildlife habitats in the region has significantly improved, playing a crucial role in this population boom.
