Thailand's Pheu Thai party on Thursday nominated Paetongtarn Shinawatra as prime minister candidate, the Thai governing coalition said at a news conference on Thursday, a day ahead of the parliamentary vote.
On Wednesday, Thailand's Constitutional Court announced the dismissal of Srettha Thavisin in an ethics case.
Paetongtarn is the daughter of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
