Fiji's Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is on a 10-day visit to China. Fiji was the first Pacific island nation to establish diplomatic ties with China, and has seen its relationship with Beijing grow steadily. In an interview with CGTN, Jenny Seeto, chair of Investment Fiji and president of the Chinese Association of Fiji, highlighted the role of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in bringing Chinese investment to Fiji, particularly in supporting infrastructure development in rural areas. She also said the number of Chinese tourists visiting Fiji is expected to surge in the coming years.
