China says the United States is the biggest nuclear threat to the world. Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang made the remarks on Friday in response to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's recent statement on extending deterrence against China's nuclear weapons arsenal. The U.S. Department of Defense in late July announced plans to convert U.S. Forces Japan into a joint force headquarters.
