Brazilian striker Andre Luis scored twice to help Shanghai Shenhua beat city rivals Shanghai Port 3-1 at home in a Chinese Super League (CSL) derby on Saturday.

Port took the lead in the 12th minute, after Matias Vargas set up Wang Shenchao for a header.

In the second half, Shenhua used the advantage of an extra man to launch very aggressive attacks. But the score didn't change until substitute Yu Hanchao smashed in a volley following chaos in the box to equalize for Shenhua.

Just three minutes later, the hosts seized control when Yu threaded the ball over to Luis, who fired in a low shot. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Luis slotted home again from close range to seal the victory for Shenhua.

With the win, the second-placed team closed the gap behind league leaders Port to just two points, with six games remaining in the 2024 season.
