Basha Village, located in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, has been home to the Miao ethnic group for generations. In the Miao language, "Basha" means "a place with abundant vegetation." Surrounded by towering ancient trees and lush bamboo, the village’s residential buildings are nestled amidst this verdant landscape. The photo captures the Miao people of Basha Village playing the lusheng and celebrating the Lusheng Festival, a grand traditional event in Miao culture. Known for their love of the lusheng, the Miao are also celebrated for their vibrant lusheng dance.
