China has reported a surge of 130 percent from a year ago in the number of foreigners visiting the country from January to July. At a news conference, National Immigration Administration Deputy Head Liu Haitao said more than 17 million foreigners arrived in China over the seven-month period. According to Liu, China actively promotes international personnel exchanges and has implemented over 110 measures to facilitate the entry of foreign nationals into China, including optimizing entry visa exemptions, transit visa exemptions and port visa policies. He said that "China Travel" has gone viral, with more foreign tourists experiencing the country's openness, confidence and safety.
