From August 13 to 18, 24 teachers and students from five universities of China's Taiwan region visited Beijing to exchange ideas on agricultural research and teaching.
They visited labs involved in integrating grain and oil processing, major scientific research into meat processing, a sharing platform for animal husbandry, and the veterinary office at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
They also exchanged ideas with agricultural experts in Beijing to learn about scientific and technological innovation in agricultural product processing, breeding new livestock and poultry varieties, animal medicine and other scientific research.
The Institute of Plant Protection at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences introduced the teachers and students to key achievements in monitoring and preventing pests and major diseases.
The teachers and students also visited the Beijing E-Town Cross-Strait Science and Technology Innovation Center. They also discussed and exchanged ideas with their Taiwan compatriots who are studying and working in Beijing to learn about development opportunities on the Chinese mainland.
