China's independently developed AS700 civil manned airship, named Xiangyun, completed its first trans-provincial ferry flight on August 21. The airship flew over 1,000 kilometers, marking the longest flight endurance and range of a Chinese homegrown manned airship. The AS700 is capable of conducting short-distance flight and vertical taking off and landing.
