This year marks the 30th anniversary of China's national aid program for the less developed inland area of Xizang Autonomous Region. Xigaze in the region used to be barren, and local officials were not confident about planting trees, until Weifang City from more advanced coastal Shandong Province successfully developed forest areas to improve the ecological system in Xizang's Nanmulin County.
