Live: Coffee with ambassadors – How do China and Ethiopia share common development?

The Forum on China and Africa Cooperation is scheduled to be held in Beijing from September 4 to 6. It's the latest gathering after the one in Beijing in 2018. This year's forum is themed "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future." A series of activities will take place including the opening ceremony, a welcoming banquet, a gala performance, high-level meetings, and the Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs. Bilateral meetings will also be held on the sidelines.

Ahead of the event, CGTN is holding a series of roundtable discussions with officials from Africa as well as business leaders who have witnessed the development of the long-standing friendship between the two sides. This episode will focus on Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. Joining us for the roundtable is Ethiopian Ambassador to China Tefera Derbew Yimam, Chairman of the Huajian Group Zhang Huarong, and Michael Aliyi Ame, an Ethiopian student studying in China. The discussion will center on common development between both countries, as well as the friendship between China and Africa and the opportunities that lie ahead.
