A smear or a cover-up? For decades, the West has ignored Africa's development. It has only focused on spreading the "China creating debt trap" rumor. What lies underneath this smear campaign is the West's Cold War mentality and its attempt to hide its political greed in the region. Smearing China is the West's attempt to save its declining influence in Africa. But what it actually accomplishes is making the West the butt of the joke.
