As the most important bilateral relationship in the 21st century, China-U.S. relation is closely connected to the security, peace and prosperity of the entire world. Graham Allison, the originator of the "Thucydides's Trap" theory, has warned the two countries could fall into a dangerous relationship – and even conflict – which could undermine future global peace and security. A new book, titled "Escaping the Thucydides's Trap," has been written by Wang Huiyao, the chairman of the Center for China and Globalization. Can China and the United States avoid such a trap? And is it possible for China and the U.S. to forge a new strategic relationship in which the two countries are able to compete and cooperate at the same time? In this episode, we've invited both Professor Allison and Dr. Wang to join the discussion.
