Democracy has long been revered around the world as a noble concept, used to characterize a civilized society. But in the past years, this noble concept has somehow become weaponized, used to attack countries with different views from others. Just what does democracy mean today? Is democracy a "one size fits all" – or should it be adaptable to the different circumstances of each country? Finally, how has China pursued its whole-process democracy despite negative criticism from the West?
