China releases development report on mutual cooperation under BRI

China has been Africa's largest trading partner for the past 15 consecutive years, signifying the importance and vitality of ties. A report by the National Development and Reform Commission highlights the major outcomes under the Belt and Road Initiative, common goals for the two sides and the outlook of the China-Africa partnership. Officials say the Belt and Road Initiative is a key element of the partnership and that practical cooperation in various fields has helped promote Africa's development. As of now, 52 African countries and the African Union have signed MOUs with China to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative. Countries such as Algeria, Egypt and Ethiopia, as well as the African Union, have signed cooperation agreements with China under this initiative. It exemplifies the spirit of China-Africa cooperation, highlighting sincerity, equality and mutual benefit. The partnership has boosted the economy, increased job creation and improved transport services, education and health in African countries.
