In July 2021, Xizang Autonomous Region celebrated the 70th anniversary of its peaceful liberation. To mark the occasion, President Xi Jinping visited the region. In Nyingchi, he spent time at the home of a local family, where he asked the two children what they wanted to do in the future. The sister told him she aspired to become a doctor, and her younger brother said he hoped to take up basketball professionally.
