S. Korea climate goals found 'unconstitutional' in youth-led court case

CGTN

South Korea's Constitutional Court ruled Thursday that much of the country's climate goals were unconstitutional, with the landmark verdict a major victory in a youth-led case.

The court ruled that the government's limited climate targets "violates the Constitution as it does not sufficiently protect the basic rights of the people," the legal representatives of the plaintiffs said after the hearing.
