A debate between U.S. presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is coming up, but their teams are sparring over whether to keep the microphones on throughout. After a mic-off rule during the previous debate, Harris, now the Democratic candidate, wants them on throughout, while the Trump campaign prefers them to be muted when the other is speaking. As they clash over this kind of issue, it raises the question: when politicians are fixated on muting or not, who's addressing the real concerns of the public?
