The Solomon Islands' National Broadband Project under the Belt and Road Initiative is working to connect people in rural areas through an improved mobile network. The project aims to boost communication coverage in remote parts of the Solomon Islands from 50 percent to 80 percent. The project is progressing as expected, targeting completion in 2026.
