English striker Ivan Toney of the Premier League's Brentford will join Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, the English club announced on Friday. ESPN revealed that the transfer fee is 40 million pounds (about $52.5 million). The player will sign a three-year contract with his new employer.

Multiple heavyweights, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have expressed their interest in Toney, who has scored 72 goals and delivered 23 assists in 141 games for Brentford in four seasons.

"It's been a pleasure to work with Ivan over the last four years," Brentford's manager Thomas Frank said in the club's statement. "He has averaged more than one goal every two games, which is an unbelievable number. On the pitch, he has been a fantastic goalscorer, link-up player and leader. He has pushed the team, the squad and himself."

Back in May 2023, Toney was suspended by the FA for eight months after being charged with a total of 262 breaches of the governing body's betting regulations, but the penalty was eased in the end due his diagnosis as a gambling addict.

Al Ahli have been chasing Victor Osimhen of Napoli as well. The two clubs agreed on 80 million euros (about $88.5 million) plus add-ons for the Nigerian striker, according to Sky Sports.

Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, said earlier this week that his client wanted to continue to play in Europe. Chelsea had negotiations with Napoli about the 25-year-old, but were not able to meet what Napoli asked for.

Sky Sports revealed that Calenda is still discussing the final details of Osimhen's deal with Al Ahli.
