Winning was not the only way to make an athlete's country proud at the Paralympic Games. For example, China's Zhang Bowen finished the men's 400-meter freestyle S11 final in the eighth place, but he managed to finish the race, displaying the Olympic spirits of challenging himself and never giving up. That's why spectators at Paris La Defense Arena gave him thunderous applause.
