In response to a joint letter by scholars from 50 African countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping noted that in the face of a volatile and intertwined world situation, China and Africa need to strengthen solidarity and cooperation more than ever before. Editor-in-Chief of Africa China Economy Magazine Ikenna Emewu is one of the scholars who co-signed the letter to President Xi. In an interview with CGTN, he spoke about his motivation to join the initiative and expectations for the upcoming summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
