China launches remote sensing satellites for low-orbit constellation tests

China launched a new group of remote sensing satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Tuesday.

A Long March-4B carrier rocket, carrying the Yaogan-43 02 satellites, blasted off at 9:22 a.m. Beijing Time. The satellites have successfully entered the preset orbit.

They will be mainly used for carrying out tests on new technologies for low-orbit constellation systems.

The Long March-4B rocket is a three-stage carrier rocket powered with liquid fuel under normal temperature. It is capable of launching various types of satellites to different orbits, and can carry a payload of up to 2.5 tonnes to a sun-synchronous circular orbit.

Tuesday's launch was the 533rd flight mission of the Long March series rockets.
