The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is scheduled to open in Beijing on September 4. The last summit was held in the Chinese capital back in 2018. This year's forum is themed "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future." Ahead of the forum, CGTN reporter Dong Xue sat down with South Africa's envoy to China to discuss his expectations for the forum and the state of bilateral trade.
