In a recent development, satellite internet provider Starlink has informed Brazil's telecom regulator, Anatel, that it will not comply with a court order to block the social media platform X in the country until its local accounts are unfrozen.

This update was confirmed by Anatel on Monday, which has forwarded the message to Brazil's Supreme Court.

Last week, Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered all telecom providers in Brazil to shut down X, citing the platform's lack of a legal representative in the country. This order also resulted in the freezing of Starlink's bank accounts in Brazil, which is part of the SpaceX group led by Elon Musk.

The account freeze is linked to a separate issue involving unpaid fines that X was ordered to pay after failing to submit certain documents. Musk criticized Moraes' decision in response to the freeze.

A five-member panel of the Supreme Court is expected to decide whether to uphold Justice Moraes' ruling. Legal experts believe that the panel is likely to affirm the decision. The Supreme Court has not yet commented on the matter.
