A Russian missile strike has killed at least 41 people and wounded more than 180 others in Ukraine's Poltava, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday in a social media post.

Zelenskyy also said that two ballistic missiles targeted an educational institution and a nearby hospital, "partially destroying one of the telecommunications institute's buildings."

"I ordered a full and prompt investigation into all of the circumstances of what happened. All necessary services are involved in the rescue operation," he added.

There has been no response from Russia.
