China's National Audit Office and the Ministry of Education established the China Government Audit Scholarship in 2016 to train master's students in auditing, particularly students from developing countries.

In April 2023, the National Audit Office organized a visit for international students to Lankao County in central China's Henan Province to learn about the local audit of poverty alleviation work. After returning to school, 37 international students decided to write a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Not long after, they received a letter in response.
