The Zhongshuge Bookstore in downtown Beijing's Xidan commercial area is considered as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the Chinese capital due to its blend of contemporary design and classical architecture.

The bookstore covers an area of more than 1,000 square meters and houses approximately 60,000 books. The interior of the bookstore is inspired by the moon gate, a traditional architectural element in classical Chinese garden design, which is a circular opening in a garden wall that acts as a passageway.
