Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday delivered a keynote speech while attending the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China.

Xi noted that the joint pursuit of modernization by China and Africa will set off a wave of modernization in the Global South and open a new chapter for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

African officials who attended the meeting said that Xi's speech was extremely inspiring. China and Africa are good friends and good brothers. They hoped that China and Africa would strengthen cooperation and create a future of common prosperity.
