The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) provides a new opportunity for promoting cooperation between China and Malawi at a new starting point. CGTN host Zheng Junfeng speaks to Malawi's President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera in an exclusive interview. Chakwera points out that the elevation of China-Malawi relations to a strategic partnership will bring more interactions between the two countries, and the Belt and Road Initiative will become a new opportunity for Africa to strengthen regional connectivity. Chakwera also believes that further deepening the cooperation between China and Malawi in economy, trade and investment would help facilitate the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
