China shine in para-athletics and swimming at Paris Paralympics

At the Paris Paralympics, China extended their lead at the top of the medal table with a string of gold medal winning performances in athletics and swimming. 

In the pool, China's Guo Jincheng, Yuan Weiyi, and Wang Lichao had a 1-2-3 finish in the men's 50-meters butterfly S5 final. Guo now has four gold and two silver medals in Paris and sets a new world record in the event by finishing in 30.28 seconds.

In the women's 400-meters freestyle S6 final, Jiang Yuyan won her sixth gold in Paris with a time of five minutes and 12.07 seconds. This is Jiang's second Paralympics, and the 19-year-old has been selected as a co-flag bearer for China at Sunday's Closing Ceremony alongside para-athlete Di Dongdong.

In athletics, China's Zhou Guohua, Wang Hao, Wen Xiaoyan, and Hu Yang refreshed their world record in the highly anticipated 4x100m universal relay final with a time of 45.07 seconds. They were followed by Great Britain and the USA.

Wen clinched her ninth gold medal in Paris, Zhou topped the podium for the first time in eight years, with Hu and Wang winning a para-games gold for the first time. This was the only relay event in the Paralympics, and featured four athletes with four different disabilities.

In other action, Li Yingli came away with silver in the women's F38 discus throw, and Zhao Yuping takes bronze in the women's F12 shot put.
