China-Latin America human rights roundtable to be held in Brazil

The first China-Latin America and Caribbean States Roundtable on Human Rights will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on September 10.

The event will be hosted by the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS) in collaboration with Renmin University of China (RUC) and Brazil's Fluminense Federal University (UFF). It will be organized by the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) and the Faculty of Law at the Fluminense Federal University (FD-UFF).

Themed "Diversity of Civilization and the Choice of the Path to Realize Human Rights," the event will include three parallel sessions of "Contributions of China-Latin American and Caribbean States to the Civilization of Human Rights," "Realization of the Right to Development and Enjoyment of Fundamental HumanRights," and "Current Challenges and Solutions for Global Human Rights Governance."

More than 120 senior officials, experts and scholars in the field of human rights from China, Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as representatives from relevant social organizations, think tanks and media, will participate in the roundtable.
