The Chinese Commerce Ministry expressed dissatisfaction on Sunday over the Netherlands' decision to further restrict exports from computer chip equipment supplier ASML to China.

The ministry noted that China and the Netherlands have engaged in multiple rounds of discussions on semiconductor export controls. Despite these efforts, the Dutch government has proceeded with the expansion of restrictions.

A spokesperson for the ministry accused the United States of exerting pressure on the Netherlands to adopt these measures as part of a broader strategy to maintain its global technological dominance. Beijing contends that such actions not only undermine the stability of global semiconductor supply chains but also infringe upon the legitimate rights of Chinese companies.

The ministry urged the Dutch government to avoid abusing export control regimes and to work towards safeguarding the shared interests of the two countries and their companies, as well as maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
