China has not been suffering from overcapacity at the macroeconomic level, China's problem is a lack of effective demand, said Yu Yongding, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, at the 2024 Bund Summit. He mentioned that China should use relevant fiscal and monetary policies to stimulate the economy and increase its domestic demand, thereby alleviating the pressure on exports.
