Former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin congratulated China Media Group on its broadcast coverage of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Raffarin was joined by president of the French Constitutional Council Laurent Fabius in sending gratitude to CMG, stressing the significant contributions that boosted bilateral cultural exchanges between the two nations.

In letters to CMG President Shen Haixiong, they emphasized that the Olympics and Paralympics presented an opportunity to celebrate international achievements and diversity. The letters also stated that the competitions served as a window to showcase the history and culture of France, and that they were happy to see CMG playing an important part in the broadcast coverage of the events. They also lauded CMG for hosting cultural and people-to-people exchange activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France.

Raffrain went on to say that events such as the French Film Week of the 14th Beijing International Film Festival, fully demonstrate a profound friendship and the shared experiences from which both France and China can learn from one another.
