People's lives are gradually returning to normal in Hainan Province as local authorities accelerate recovery efforts from the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Yagi, which has killed four and injured 95 since its landfall on September 6.
According to the Central Meteorological Observatory, Yagi weakened into a tropical storm on the night of September 7, and the yellow alert was lifted at 6 a.m. on September 8. Hainan has begun resuming maritime transportation, with roll-on-roll-off ferry services across the Qiongzhou Strait set to restart on September 8.
