Typhoon Yagi, along with the landslides and floods it triggered, has killed at least 24 people and injured another 299 in northern Vietnam, the government reported late on Sunday. Authorities have warned of more flooding.

The typhoon, Asia's most powerful storm this year, made landfall on the country's northeastern coast on Saturday.

It has disrupted power supplies and telecommunications in several areas, particularly in Quang Ninh and Haiphong, according to the government statement.
