A major cultural program called The Legend of Silk Manuscripts was launched on September 10 in Beijing. It is co-produced by China Media Group (CMG) and the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

The Legend of Silk Manuscripts is the first program to explore the stories behind these manuscripts, revealing the historical and cultural narratives of ancient China. Brushing away the dust of millennia, the program aims to help audiences appreciate the ethnic wisdom and spiritual essence embedded in these texts through dialogues that span across time, Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, said at the event.

In the past six years, CMG has actively preserved and promoted traditional cultural resources, achieving success with innovative programs that have garnered widespread acclaim both domestically and internationally, Shen said.

With over five episodes, the program delves into the origin and cultural significance of silk manuscripts and paintings, featuring the latest archaeological discoveries and offering insights into the rich cultural heritage of ancient China.

Utilizing AI technology, the program will bring the ancient artifacts to life and attempt to digitally reconstruct and translate fragmented texts, providing viewers with a fresh, immersive experience.
