The San Francisco 49ers beat the New York Jets 32-19 in their first National Football League (NFL) regular season game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Monday.

The home team crashed the opponents on the field by leading 180-68 in rushing yards despite the absence of their superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. Jordan Mason filled in his position in running the ball with 28 carries for 147 yards one touchdown.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel scored a rushing touchdown as well. He also got five catches for 54 yards, joining receiver Jauan Jennings, fullback Kyle Juszczyk and tight end George Kittle, all four of which posted 40+ receiving yards and completed connections of over 20 yards with their quarterback (QB) Brock Purdy.

Purdy completed 19 of his 29 passes in Monday's game for 231 yards. Though he didn't throw any touchdowns, he did a great job playmaking for the 49ers to finish the competition within three hours, a strong piece of evidence that the team enjoyed their fast pace of the game.

Jake Moody converted six field goals, including the longest from 53 yards and two extra-point kicks for the 49ers.

The Jets threw in the white towel by sending backup QB Tyrod Taylor to replace Aaron Rodgers when there were more than four minutes left in the fourth quarter. They scored a touchdown first when running back Breece Hall rushed into the end zone in the first quarter, but then struggled to make their offense work during most of the game on Monday night.

Rodgers completed 13 of his 21 passes for 167 yards and threw his first touchdown as a Jet in the third quarter when he connected with wide receiver Allen Lazard, who paired with Rodgers back in the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers threw one interception by linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles in the third quarter.

Lazard caught a pass from Taylor to score his second touchdown at the end of the game, but it did nothing better than saving face for the Jets.
