Dazheng Hall, a landmark of the Shenyang Palace complex, was built by Nurhaci, who is best known as one of the founders of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). /CGTN
These types of glazed tiles appear on many of the gable-roofed buildings in the Shenyang Palace Museum, demonstrating the superb craftsmanship of the artisans. /CGTN
On a corner of one of the buildings in the Shenyang Palace complex, the yellow glazed roof tiles are decorated with a green border and feature traditional mortise and tenon joints, upturned eaves and decorative brackets, and all enhanced with colored paint. /CGTN
Nearly 700 kilometers away from Beijing's Forbidden City lies another centuries-old wonder – the Shenyang Palace Museum. Built in 1625, it stands as a testament to the rise of China's last dynasty, which extended its reach across the country before the capital was moved to Beijing.
