At the 2024 World Trade Organization Open Forum in Geneva, CGTN invited senior media practitioners from the Global South to engage in roundtable discussions. What will it take to better push for Global South narratives? Guests from Nigeria and South Africa said most of the Western narratives about Africa are related to poverty and disease. Fixing this narrative bias means making a big effort in "selling" the beauty and greatness of Africa to the world with louder voices. They also shared their insights on easing poverty, with the aid of open and fair trade.
